When Bob McClure called on Englert Technology to help Southern Company Energy Marketing (SCEM) consolidate its Houston and Atlanta trading floors into one trading floor in Atlanta, the result was a flawless move. An Englert Technology project manager worked full time coordinating all aspects of the consolidation, from furniture, to people, to equipment, to ensure there was no interruption in gas trading.
"The time frame was very tight and the risk factor was high. Gas trading is extremely critical to our business and the penalty for interrupting it is quite high: It would have cost SCEM millions of dollars. But Englert Technology gave us a good plan and the move was flawless. We shut down the trading floor on Friday afternoon, completed the move over the weekend, and were trading Monday morning with no disruption. Englert Technology did a great job of staying on top of everything and making sure nothing was missed.
Englert Technology provided services and people we didn't have on staff. Fred and his team are focused on project management; that's the benefit of working with them.
